The Halo theme will play as you get the skull. If you are not sure you got it, then look at the rings when you complete the sequence they will be blinking in sequence. Once you have completed the sequence, the skull will appear at the beginning of the light bridge leading to Truth's podium. Each number corresponds to the ring you must jump through the ring at the elevator is 1, and the ring next to Truth is 7.
Note: you can restart jumping through the rings without restarting the level over as long as you start from the beginning. The skull will still appear if you are playing in co-op (2-4 players). You should jump through the rings after Truth dies. Once the bridge is devoid of enemies, you will have to jump through the seven holograms of the Halos in a specific order. When you reach the final scene, where the Prophet of Truth is planning on lighting the seven rings, proceed as you would normally: kill the Covenant, kill Truth, and kill the Flood, but do not jump down the elevator shaft once you have finished that. To obtain the skull, the player must start the level from the very beginning, and not from a Rally Point, and on Normal, Heroic, or Legendary. The IWHBYD skull is located on the level The Covenant. Not only is the skull's name a reference to this line, but the skull's description reads "But a dog beat me over the fence" The exception of this is in Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4, where the description reads, "Rare dialog is common and vice versa". It is also the name of the first chapter of the campaign level Assault on the Control Room in Halo: Combat Evolved. I had two controllers logged in and dashboarded to switch between the two.The name of the skull is based on a statement, occasionally uttered by both Sergeant Johnson and Sergeant Stacker in Halo: Combat Evolved: "I would have been your daddy, but a dog beat me over the fence!" The quote was originally spoken by Pete Stacker. It seems there may be a bit of lag for the stats to count.ĮDIT2: As UnafraidComic44 noted in the comments if you're using an alt account that's on your friends list to do this make sure to go back to the dashboard when switching between the accounts, don't sign out of one account and into the other within the game.
All of the post patch wins were with the same friend.ĮDIT: Based on the experience of Fire Hawk D in the comments: If the achievement doesn't pop after 10 wins doing this, try waiting a day and trying again. I won 12 challenges afterwards, 2 were one I sent that got failed, the other 10 were sent to me which i passed and bounced back. I had 9 challenge wins before the title update.
Note: Any challenges done prior to the Jtitle update do not count towards this achievement. This can be done with a single friend you don't need 10 different ones.Īny challenges you send that get failed do not count towards this achievement. The achievement pops at the bounce back on the 10th challenge, soNdox2 has confirmed the bounce back is necessary. Complete at least the 2nd wave and bounce it back and have them fail it. Have a friend complete the 1st wave in a challenge and die in the 2nd wave.
